I have a degree in three-dimensional design. After graduating, I worked on a farm during the summer holidays and enjoyed the outdoor lifestyle so much that I stayed! During my time working outdoors I was able to perfect the practical skills of landscaping and the art of building dry stone walls. I started Gillylodge in 2003 because I enjoy the process of taking a blank canvas and working with earth, stone, water and timber to transform it, whether by designing and creating a garden, or building a dry stone wall.
Dry stone walls are long-lasting and encourage wildlife to your garden. Dry stone walling is a traditional rural craft, and Iím pleased to be able to use these skills and keep a traditional craft alive and relevant. Dry stone walling is also a very flexible process, allowing me to make changes to the design of your garden as work progresses.
